Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Hospital Pharmacist role based at GBR Fertility Centre in Chennai. The Hospital Pharmacist will review and verify prescriptions, prepare and dispense medications, and ensure safe, evidence-based use of medicines for patients undergoing fertility and related treatments. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize pharmaceutical care, monitor drug therapies, and provide medication counseling to patients and families. The role involves managing inventory, overseeing storage conditions, and maintaining compliance with hospital, regulatory, and safety standards. The Hospital Pharmacist will also support antimicrobial stewardship, participate in clinical audits, contribute to protocol development, and assist in staff education on medication-related best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Pharmacy and Medicine, with the ability to interpret prescriptions and apply pharmacological knowledge in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated experience in Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Care, including reviewing medication orders, monitoring therapy, and providing patient-centered counseling.
- Competence in Compounding and preparation of specialized formulations in line with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/D Pharm) from an accredited institution; valid registration/license with the relevant pharmacy council.
- Familiarity with hospital information systems, prescription management software, and inventory control processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation habits, and adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Previous experience in a hospital or specialty care setting (fertility, women’s health, or critical care) is an advantage.
